Life is hard, and we all need to reach out for help sometimes.

Hi there, I am Ann-Marie Covert, Founder of Mindjoy Counselling & Training.

I offer counselling and psychotherapy, as well as christian faith-based counselling and psychotherapy.

Online and phone support are available, and are the preferred options during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anyone age 13 to 113 who is struggling with their mental health.   No diagnosis is required.  If you are are having a hard time, let's chat and see if I am the right fit for you.

If for some reason Mindjoy is not the best fit, I will do my best to provide you with referrals to a more appropriate service.

Mindjoy can help people with:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Bipolar Disorder

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

  • Stress & Burnout

  • Grief & Loss

  • Relationship Issues

  • Self-esteem

  • Life Transitions

  • Spiritual Tension

  • Purpose & Identity

If you don't see your situation on the list, I recommend that it is always worth a conversation.  Even if I am just able to help connect you elsewhere.

Appointments are available Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8am to 6:30pm EST, and Saturdays from 8:00am to noon.  There is some flexibility for appointments outside of those timeframes.

Sessions are $100.00 inclusive.

Payment can be made by cheque, cash, or e-transfer.

I also accept insurance and benefit coverage.

Some people are able to receive subsidy through their church, this may be worth exploring if it applies to you.

If you don't have coverage, you may be able to claim Psychotherapy on your income taxes.

Sliding scale spots are full at this time.

My services are confidential.  I am bound by privacy legislation, by the College of Social Work, and by my own values.

Please note that I use email to book appointments.  While we hope email is generally secure, I recommend not providing any of your sensitive personal information and to keep the content related to booking a session.

Please email me if you are interested in meeting, and let me know what day/times work well for you.

And here is some additonal information you may find helpful:

OVERALL APPROACH (to give you a sense of who I am and my style):

I am very passionate about helping people recover, be well, and reach their full potential.  My hope is to help people thrive, and have a full and satisfying life.

I am very holistic (meaning I look at the whole picture), and together we will explore different things that may be negatively impacting your mental health.

These could include things such as diet and exercise, sleep patterns, current living environment, work experiences, financial strain, genetics, biology, spirituality, thinking patterns, family history, and past trauma.

I use different techniques depending on the person sitting in front of me and their specific situation.  It is not a one-size fits all approach, and I am very flexible.

I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and since 2006 I have counselled hundreds of individuals with mental health conditions and their families.

I have also been a mental health program manager, managing youth and adult mental health programs and providing clinical supervision to support staff.

I have certificate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Concurrent Disorders/Relapse Prevention.

I also have training in Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, the Trauma-Informed Approach, Attachment Theory, and Family Systems.
