Life is hard, and we all need to reach out for help sometimes.

Hi there, I am Ann-Marie Covert, Founder of Mindjoy Counselling & Training.

I offer counselling and psychotherapy, as well as christian faith-integrated counselling and psychotherapy.

I tend to support people who are struggling with anxiety, feeling disconnected from themselves and from others, who have lost their sense of purpose, or are burned out.  If you have been going through a lot and life feels overwhelming, then let's have a chat.

Appointments are available online or by phone.  You can book directly through my website (click "Book a Session", or you can email me if you have questions (info@mymindjoy.com).

Anyone age 18 to 118 who is struggling with their mental health.   No diagnosis is required.  If you are are having a hard time, let's chat and see if I am the right fit for you.

If for some reason Mindjoy is not the best fit, I will do my best to provide you with referrals to a more appropriate service.

Appointments are available Monday-Thursday, 9am-noon.  Appointment availability is provided when booking online.  You can also book during alternate times by contacting me directly.

Mindjoy is not a crisis service, and if you need help immediately, please contact your local crisis line.

Counselling sessions are $135.00 for individuals and $150.00 for couples.  There is no tax.

Payment can be made by cheque, credit card, or e-transfer.

I also accept insurance and benefit coverage.

Some people are able to receive subsidy through their church, this may be worth exploring if it applies to you.

If you don't have coverage, you may be able to claim Psychotherapy on your income taxes.

Sliding scale spots are full at this time.

My services are confidential.  I am bound by privacy legislation, by the College of Social Work, and by my own values.

OVERALL APPROACH (to give you a sense of who I am and my style):

I am very passionate about helping people recover, be well, and reach their full potential.  My hope is to help people thrive, and have a full and satisfying life.

I am very holistic (meaning I look at the whole picture), and together we will explore different things that may be negatively impacting your mental health.

These could include things such as diet and exercise, sleep patterns, current living environment, work experiences, financial strain, genetics, biology, spirituality, thinking patterns, family history, and past trauma.

I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and since 2006 I have counselled hundreds of individuals with mental health conditions and their families.

I have also been a mental health program manager, managing youth and adult mental health programs and providing clinical supervision to support staff.

I have certificate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Concurrent Disorders/Relapse Prevention.

I also have training in Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, the Trauma-Informed Approach, Attachment Theory, and Family Systems.
